In July 2021 we promoted Carly to join our BDM team, covering the North West. We’ve asked her some questions so you can get to know our latest BDM a little better.

Grab a cuppa, settle in and enjoy.

Get to know Carly…

Can you tell us a fact about yourself?

As well as taking on my new position, I have the exciting news of getting married later this year!

What is your background in financial services?

I have worked in property, both admin and mortgage related, for roughly a decade. However, I have been in the financial services business for 6 years.

When you aren’t helping brokers and their clients, what keeps you busy in your spare time?

I love going out for dinner and drinks with friends and family, as well as a quiet night in.

About the role…

What is your new position at the Society and how does this compare to your previous role?

This new role will allow me to develop more personal relationships, offer one on one service and hopefully develop the North West of the country! My previous role was to mainly manage the intermediary helpdesk which focused on providing a reactive services for all brokers around England and Wales. I can now look at managing a specific area.

What are you most looking forward to about your new role?

Developing myself. This is such an exciting opportunity for me and I can’t wait to look back in a years’ time and see how I have developed.

Carly’s mortgage market thoughts…

What would you like to see more of?

I am enjoying the rise of holiday lets following the impact of Covid-19 and the consequence of people not being able to go abroad so freely. I think this is a good boost for UK economy and it’s nice to see so many more new locations for people to take UK breaks!

If you had a magic wand, what one thing would you wish for in the mortgage market?

For some more 95% LTV options! I really feel for those who want to get on the ladder but there aren’t as many options out there for them at the moment.

What would be your dream property and why?

I would LOVE to live in the middle of nowhere! Lots of land, a cute cottage with a fireplace; perfection!
